Bio

Upon completing the NAIT business administration program and bachelors of commerce, arts and laws at the University of Alberta, was called to the bar in 1991. After articles and joining Sirrs Watson Deckert Allen as an associate, became a partner in 1994 and appointed as Queen’s Counsel (now King's Counsel) in 2014. He continues the tradition of our firm’s namesake with a general practice which includes:  corporate and commercial transactions, estate planning and estate administration, residential and commercial real estate, limited criminal defense and divorce and matrimonial property law.

Along with passions including music, food, wine, travel, photography, vintage typewriters, boating, fly fishing, vintage triumphs (spitfire 1500 & TR6), enjoys cycling and does not enjoy running although does so on occasion. Has competed multiple times as a team member in the Sinister 7 and Canadian Death Race ultra relays and cycled the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer along with several CASA cycling tours raising funds for child and adolescent mental health including: the 2015 (Cycledelic 1000), 2016 (Best of the West), the 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022 (VanIsle), 2023 and 2024 Minds Over Mountains rides.

Over the past several years, has volunteered on boards including:  UofA Faculty of Law Dean’s Advisory Board, Wetaskiwin Regional Chamber of Commerce Board along with the Business Revitalization Zone, Main Street Development, Wetaskiwin Child Care Society, Wetaskiwin and District Community Association and also served as a charter member of the Rotary Club of Wetaskiwin as Director of International Service.
