Bio

Jenna graduated with her Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria in 2012 and was called to the bar in June 2013. Jenna specializes in difficult child custody matters and her primary practice is family law including all matters related to divorce and separation which would entail property division, spousal support, child support, and separation agreements.

Jenna has experience litigating high-conflict family matters but recognizes that judicial intervention should only be necessary if she cannot resolve the matter outside of Court. Matters can often be resolved without Court through the assistance of counsel working together with their clients towards a mutually satisfactory resolution. If the parties cannot agree on an outcome they are comfortable with, an efficient method Jenna also uses to resolve disputes is the mediation/arbitration process.

Prior to practicing family law, Jenna worked as a civil litigator for prominent insurance companies on complex liability cases. However, Jenna’s experience is varied as she also has experience working with victims of domestic violence at a Surrey Women’s Centre, and working for the Ministry of Children and Family Development in British Columbia, as Director’s Counsel, on child protection cases.

Jenna is well-travelled and speaks some Spanish. She currently resides with her husband and young daughter on their cattle ranch in the Rimbey area and has a significant understanding of family and economic realities in rural Alberta. Outside of work, Jenna enjoys keeping things light and bright by exploring with her daughter, entertaining her husband’s jet-boat obsession, and lounging by the fire with her dog, Coulee.
